
The La Selva Integrated Goods Centre, covering a gross area of 22.5 hectares, is situated between the towns of Vilobí d’ Onyar and Riudellots de la Selva at a strategic point on the road network where the AP-7 Mediterranean corridor and the A-2 intersect with the C-25 Link Road, near Girona airport. The CIM was promoted by the Catalan Government through the CIMALSA public company with the aim of offering a space with optimum conditions of location and service for road goods transport companies.
The CIM La Selva features two clearly differentiated zones, the logistics area, designed especially for high- and medium-turnover logistics activity and covering an area of 92,115m2, and the Airport and Logistics Park, covering an area of 47,309m2. The rest is formed by roadways and green zones.
The CIM La Selva it was started in 2007 and currently houses over twenty logistics and services companies.
The CIM is a closed site with controlled accesses, featuring a Control Centre with surveillance and security facilities, such as access control, vehicle licence plate recognition and CCTV.
- In late 2001, CIMALSA began proceedings for the construction of the CIM (Integrated Goods Centre) and started buying the first pieces of land next to Girona Airport.
- On 12 March 2003, the Girona Regional Urban Planning Commission gave its final approval to the amendments of the Subsidiary Rules in the PP9 area, promoted by the Riudellots de la Selva and Vilobí d’Onyar town councils.
- On 25 June 2003, the Minister for Regional Policy and Public Works gave their final approval to the CIM la Selva Partial Urban Planning Plan, aimed at the implementation of a transport logistics area affecting the municipalities of Riudellots de la Selva and Vilobí d’Onyar, promoted by CIMALSA.
- The first stone of the CIM La Selva was laid on 3 October 2003. Construction work was carried out fundamentally in 2004, and on 17 February 2005 the Minister for Regional Policy and Public Works visited the CIM la Selva on the occasion of completion of the construction work.
- On 11 November 2005, the Supra-Association of Owners of the CIM La Selva and its Statutes were constituted before a notary public.
- On 6 March 2006, the La Selva County Council granted a major building permit for the construction of modular warehouse 3, which began immediately.
- On 27 July 2006, the Girona Regional Urban Planning Commission gave its final approval to the specific amendment of the Subsidiary Rules of the Vilobí d’Onyar and Riudellots de la Selva town councils to develop the future Airport and Logistics Park. The amendment to the relevant Partial Plan was approved on 28 March 2007.
- On 7 May 2007, the Minister for Regional Policy and Public Works visited the Bax Global (now Schenker) warehouse, which was the first to come into operation at the CIM La Selva.
- On 6 July 2007, the Special Complementary Urban Planning Infrastructures Plan was approved, which included investment in the internal urban planning of the future Airport and Logistics Park and a new access roundabout to the N-156 main road. .
- The internal urban planning work on the Airport and Logistics Park was completed on 19 March 2009.

All the owners of the CIM La Selva constitute the Supra-Association of Owners of the CIM la Selva with the aim of maintaining the platform in a good state and in optimal operating conditions. The Supra-Association is governed by the Statutes, which set out the rules of organisation and operation of the Centre. The most senior body of the Supra-Association is the General Assembly, which comprises all its owners, with the same rights and obligations. The decisions of the Assembly oblige both owners and users of the CIM.
The General Assembly of Owners of the CIM La Selva appoints a Steering Committee, comprised of a minimum of five members and a maximum of nine, from which a Chairman, a Treasurer and an Accountant will be appointed. The Steering Committee meets regularly and is responsible for ensuring the good operation of the Centre. The Statutes of the Supra-Association also envisage the figure of the Administrator, who will carry out the administrative, accounting and management tasks that are required for the good progress of the Supra-Association and the Centre.

The public company of the Catalan Government, CIMALSA, acts as administrator of the Centre with the aim of maintaining the operation and functions that were initially designed. At the behest of the Steering Committee, CIMALSA contracts and manages all the collective services of the CIM: security, maintenance, gardening, cleaning and waste collection, etc., at all times ensuring its optimum operation.
